Overview
Sometimes, your check in and check out time or break times are not agreed upon by the community. When a community disagrees to your shift time information, they can modify the times before they verify the shift. In order to get paid, you MUST review the changes. This guide walks you through the process so your payment is processed correctly.
Community Modified your Shift
When you checked out of a shift, your shift times are stored and shown to the community to verify. Sometimes, they disagreed with the information based on a variety of reasons. For example they asked you to stay more time, change or add your break times or a special request on your side that need modification. If a community modifies any of your time information for the shift, you will be notified and the shift will move into the Action Needed section on the My Shifts screen.


Steps to Verify a Shift
- Open the KARE Heroes App and go to My Shifts tab or Notifications.

- Tap on the Shift to view the details, where you will see:
- Check In (Start Time)
- Check Out (End Time)
- Break Time
- Any Bonus (if applicable)

- If everything is correct with the Community modifications, tap Verify at the bottom of the screen.
- If you need to make any corrections to the time, you can edit the Start Time, End Time, or Break before submitting.
- Tap Submit to Update to send a notification to the Community and the status will change to Disagreed, the Community will need to review it an Approve if they agree with your last change.

Important

Only verify once, you cannot make further edits after submission.

If you made changes to your shift (like adjusting the time), the Community must review and approve them before the payment can be finalized.

Do not verify a shift if the time or bonus shown is incorrect. Contact the KARE Support Team if needed.

Overview
Did you have a great experience at a Community? How about a terrible experience? When you finish a shift and check out through the KARE Heroes app, you are prompted to leave a review for the Community. These reviews are completely anonymous to the Community. By leaving an honest review, you can inform other Heroes on what to expect and help communities identify where they can improve. In this article, we will discuss how to leave reviews for Communities after you work a shift.
Leaving a Review
When you are finished with a shift, go to the My Shifts screen and tap Check Out. Alternatively, you can also tap on the shift details and then tap the check out button too.

After you have reviewed and submitted your shift times, the next screen will ask you to write a review. Reviews are made up of the following:
- Overall: How you would rate the Community as a whole, considering all of the sub-ratings?
- Welcoming: Was the Community welcoming and friendly towards you?
- Adequately Staffed: Did you feel the Community had plenty of staff available to cover the floor?
- Clear Direction Given: Did the Community make sure you understood what you were responsible for?
- Teamwork: Were other staff members helpful?
- Description: Any other comments that you would like to leave about the Community.

A Community’s score is updated periodically. When you review available shifts, keep in mind that other Heroes have provided reviews of the community for you as well. By leaving an honest and descriptive review, you help other Heroes and KARE understand community behavior better.

Overview
You’ve completed your shift at the community (great job!) and now you need to check out. Even if a community has their own separate check in/check out process, you must use the KARE Heroes app to check out in order to be paid. This guide will go through how to check out of a shift.
Checking Out
Once you have completed your shift, tap the Check Out button. If you have location services turned on, the app will automatically check you out if you leave the community.

Verifying Hours
Once you’ve tapped Check Out, you will be redirected to the shift details screen. If you haven’t done so already, add breaks or meals by doing the following:
- Locate the Add meal & break type selector
- Choose from a list of break options
- Tap out of the list, locate the break option below
- Tap the pencil icon
- Adjust the minutes of your break
- Tap Ok
- Tap Check Out

Modifying Time
See a mistake? No worries, you can modify your time before a community verifies your shift by:
- Opening the shift details card
- Tap Incorrect Check In or Check Out

- Tap the pencil icon in the verify working hours screen
- Adjust the times as needed
- Once finished, tap next

Once this is finished, you will be required to review the community anonymously. Afterwards, a community supervisor will need to verify your time to get paid. Please Note: It is important that you submit the correct check in and out times and breaks before the community verifies your shift. If they make time changes, your reliability score will be negatively impacted.
